Hello parents,
Happy New Year!!! I hope this new year will bring love, happiness and health to you and your family. I hope you enjoyed the break as much as I did. It was fun spending time with my boys and doing things we normally don’t do (like eating breakfast at 1:00).
Here’s what’s happening in our class:
I passed out the mid-module quizzes that the students took before the break. Please sign and return .
NWEA testing is starting this week. We will start with reading then we will start math next week. The week after that we will finish language and science. These dates are flexible and things might change but this is the plan so far. It is important to speak with your child about this test and to take it seriously. Mr. Martin also states this in his monthly newsletter.
We are finishing up math module 4 this week. The study guide will be sent home Monday (1-14) and the test will be Wednesday (1-16).
For science, we have will continue learning about weather and climate. This week we will focus on two questions: Why are some places always hot? and How can you keep a house from blowing away in a windstorm? The study guide will be sent home Friday (1-11) and the test will be on Monday (1-14).
For writing, we are finishing up our opinion pieces on if dogs should or should not work.
For ELA, we are continuing our essential skill on main idea and supporting details.
Thank you,
Mrs. Attia
