Weekly Reminders….

Hello Parents,

I sent home the mid-module assessment, please review the feedback with your child, sign and return to school. It is important to practice daily and study at home in addition to school time. The homework assessments may be challenging but it is important to always complete them. Also, working on ixl and mastering required skills will help improve student performance. Parents make sure you are talking with your child about the importance of school and always trying their best effort.

Our end of module assessment will be November 1st. I will add another practice quiz on Google classroom soon!

Friday is our first science test on Forces. Wednesday students will bring home their notebook to study their notes.

Thursday is our first field trip for the year. We are going to Troy Historical Museum. Please dress students according to the weather. We will be walking in and out of buildings. Also, pack a bagged lunch and make sure everything is disposable.

This week the PTA are selling Trunk or Treat tickets. $4 per child for PTA members and $5 per child for non-members. It is a fun even that students can enjoy with their family! The form was sent out last week, if you would like to purchase tickets, please fill out form with the money and return to school. Also, our annual pumpkin raffle is this week. It is 25 cents per ticket. Good luck to all!

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you,

Mrs. Attia

Mid-module Practice on Google Classroom

Hello parents,

To help with the mid-module quiz on Friday, I uploaded a mid-module practice test on Google Classroom. Students can click on the questions to practice in addition to IXL.

Students need to go through the dearbornschools.org, click on student resources, then clever. It will say enter email address and password. Username is student ID and password is birth date. For example: username: 20115568@dearbornschools.org and password is mmddyyyy. Students should be familiar with logging in at school, but it will look a little different at home.

Please let me know if it doesn’t work.

Thank you,

Mrs. Attia

Reminders…

Hello parents,

The past few lesson for math were on the metric system. It is a hard concept for many students especially when it is not used in their daily activities. In third grade, it is basic understanding of what is a gram and kilogram. Also, we are learning what is a liter and milliliter. To help support these skills, please have students practice on IXL skill number: BB.14 and BB.15. Remember IXL can also be used on the phone too, you would need to download the App.

If you are having trouble using IXL please let me know.

There is a math quiz coming up this Friday. It is our mid-module assessment for lesson 1 through lesson 11. Have students practice telling time to the nearest minute, and solving word problems using kg , g, L, mL. I have starred where students can practice solving word problems with the 4 operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Thank you,

Mrs. Attia

Hello parents,

I have sent home the math, social studies and spelling test today. Please review mistakes, sign tests and return Monday. Also, I have a few more students that I need field trip forms and money, the due date is October 12th. If you don’t want your child to participate, please write that on the form, sign and return.

Next week, we are starting a new module for math on place value and problem solving with units of measure.

For science, we will continue working on forces and motion through using Mystery Science. Watch for pictures on classdojo.

Students have an epic account which can be used at home. Students will have to log-in through google classroom. It has many books that students can read have some read to them.

Don’t forget to have students continue working on IXL and mastering the skills that have stars.

Finally, don’t forget to use classdojo as a quick and great communication to reach me, especially with your busy schedules and I will reply as soon as I can.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Mrs. Attia
