Reminders….

Hello parents,

Just a few reminders:

Every student took all their books home to read and re-read. At the end of each book there are comprehension check questions that students can work on. Also, I sent a common core workbook for math. Students can pick and choose what they want to work on since not everyone has access to study island. I would suggest to work on things that they are having trouble with and practice that way. Study island has great step-by-step lessons that they can do. Myon is another great resource to use and have students do the quizzes in the end of each book.

NWEA will begin when we come back from break which is why we need to continue working on their strategies and skills. Remember this is our last NWEA for the year. It is the last chance for students to truly show what they have learned throughout the year. Students need to take NWEA seriously and try their best!

MSTEP for 3rd grade will start end of April/Beginning of May. I will update you as the dates get closer.

Don’t forget Lansing field trip is April 9th at 7:00 am. An adult must bring student to school that day. Chaperones please be on time and I will have your groups for you. If all chaperones show, you will have a group of 2-3 students 🙂 At the Capitol, we must all walk together but we can split at the museum. Or a few chaperones can walk together with their groups. I will give you more details that day. The bus does have a DVD player (hopefully it is working) so I will get a movie for us to watch on the bus ride.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask 🙂

Enjoy the spring break!

NWEA Practice

Hello parents!

There is a new link under links on the left side of my blog. It is called NWEA Practice. The username and password is grow. Students are allowed to choose the grade level and subject they would like to practice for NWEA. As the break is coming up soon, this is a great way for students to get ready for the NWEA.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Thank you,

Mrs. Attia

New link!!!

Hello parents!

I have uploaded a new link called Math Toolbox. It has many virtual resources that students can practice using at home. We will also use some in the class during our math rotations. Let me know how you like it.

Thank you!

Few Reminders….

Hello parents,

***March is reading month has begun and we would like parent volunteer to come read to the class. Let me know a good day and time for you. You may choose your own book or I can send one with your child to practice before. Also, students need to be reading daily but for March they will have to fill out a reading log. They should have around 150 minutes per week. I will collect the log Friday morning and give them a new log. Please make sure you are signing daily, we want to earn the cultural/diversity celebration at the end of the month.

**Class spelling bee will be Friday, March 9th.

**If you didn’t already, please send in Lansing permission slip and money. So far we have 3 chaperones, we would like another 2. If you don’t want your child to participate, please sign form stating that and return.

**It is still runny nose season, could you please donate some tissue boxes 🙂

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Thank you,

Mrs. Attia
