All students will write an animal story using Google Docs. When you have finished, get a partner to read it over and make suggestions. Revise and edit. Since Google Docs puts a red line under all misspelled words, make sure there are no red lines.

Objective: Students will evaluate three websites to determine which is best to find information for a student report about a country.

This week we will evaluate three websites. We are trying to find the best information we can for a report about a country. Look at each website. Answer the questions on each evaluation guide, then tell which website you would use and why.

1. Go to Dearbornschools.org and choose parent/student and log in to Google .

2. Open Google Drive and open your presentation.

3. In a new tab, open google search.

4. Find a picture and click to open the small grey box.

5. Click on the picture and press control C to copy it. Leave the tab open.

6. Go to your presentation by clicking on the tab.

7. Choose edit, then paste. Adjust the size as needed.

8. Return to the Google Search tab and copy the website that the picture came from and the artist, if given.

9. Put the website and artist’s name on the slide with the picture.

Language objective: I can use Google Presentation to explain in words and images 5 things about my animal.

Google Presentation is similar to PowerPoint, except that it is totally web based and people who do not have the PowerPoint software can view your presentation. Here is a basic tutorial.
