Summer Meals for School-Aged Children

Posted by Ann Albertson on June 2, 2017 in Class News |

If you have a school-aged student in need of breakfast and lunch this summer, simply text “FOOD” to 877877 and receive a message back with a location closest to where they can get free summer meals.
Even if you aren’t in need, someone else’s kids are. No child deserves to go hungry, ever. This is a nationwide program so please share for all of the children who are struggling to get enough food.

Spelling Test & Camp Information

Posted by Ann Albertson on May 19, 2017 in Class News |

With field day this afternoon, we had to consolidate our morning. We did not get to our spelling test. Click on the link for the hot and content words:

Spelling week 31 list

Weather Conditions: This afternoon for field day, many of the students were complaining about the chilly temperatures. I reminded the students they need to listen to the weather reports each morning. This is especially true for those students participating in camp. The temperatures a bit north and out in the country will be cooler. Please make sure the students have enough layers to keep them warm.

Medicine for Camp: If you are sending medicine to camp, either prescription or over the counter, it has to be in the original packaging. If you tossed the box or container out, please call your doctor or pharmacist to get it refilled or get the packaging again. We have to follow the guidelines.

Packing List: The suggested packing list was blogged 2-3 weeks ago. Scroll back through my blog to find it.

Summer Learning

Posted by Ann Albertson on May 17, 2017 in Class News |

A couple of Dearborn’s teacher leaders for Math and Language Arts visited our classroom on Monday to discuss summer learning expectations. Students set up accounts with Khan Academy and information was given regarding mandatory summer work for the students.
