OOPS!!! Forgot to “publish” this – everything was posted in GC regardless.
T.G.I.F! Happy Friday! It was great seeing our Howard family yesterday! My heart is happy from seeing students and parents yesterday, regardless of the social-distancing and circumstances. I’ve said this to some parents, but I want to relay this message to all: As a 5th grade teacher, the last couple of months are often the most rewarding. I would typically see the culmination of hard work, determination, and responsibility that developed and strengthened through your elementary schooling. I am missing that and it is hard for me. Students – PLEASE keep working hard! We can see the finish line! You need to maintain strong work and responsibility. Keep reading directions, instructions, and complete your work to the best of your ability that I know you are capable of. None of us know what next year’s schooling will look like. However, it won’t be as “easy” as this is now. Keep your chin up and keep working hard. (And another reminder – just because you turn in your work doesn’t automatically mean full credit or even partial credit. It needs to meet district expectations. Take your time and double check your work before submitting it.)

You and your parents need to come to Howard this afternoon to get your bag AND to return: (1) Social Studies Atlas (2) Wayside chapter book (3) Treasures Reading book (4) instruments for Mrs. Hartrick (5) media center books (6) safety belt. Some of you had your library books and safety belts in your desks so I will return those for you. There are two items still unclaimed: a black, knit winter hat and a football. (Scroll down to see the photos posted yesterday.) Next week, I’ll be setting up individual virtual meetings to “see” your Science journals and Math workbooks.

Happy Wednesday! Today feels like a Tuesday – I’m always “off” after a holiday weekend. I spent quite a bit of time yesterday in our classroom. I bagged up your desks and started “closing” up the classroom. Anything that was in your desk was put in a large paper bag. You and your parents need to come to Howard tomorrow to get your bag AND to return: (1) Social Studies Atlas (2) Wayside chapter book (3) Treasures Reading book (4) instruments for Mrs. Hartrick (5) media center books (6) safety belt. Returning Supplies
I am finding some of your library books IF you left them in your desks. Double check at home though – some of you might have taken them home. I am also finding many safety belts in desks, too. However, if you took yours home, you’ll need to bring it back.
