Important District Update
This morning, Howard will be “open” for students to come and gather their belongings and materials. Some ideas shared yesterday involved online learning. If this happens, students will need their books and other items.
I will update my blog when I get further directions. There are also educational companies offering free websites soon and I will post those as well

March is Reading Month
The note, calendar, and other information for “March is Reading Month” was sent home on Monday. Please remind your student to follow the calendar for the suggested events. Note that tomorrow is our first “Fact in Your Pocket” day. Students should have an interesting fact about Hawaii written out neatly and properly on a slip of paper in their pocket in case a teacher or other Howard staff member asks them. If they have it, they will receive a small participation prize.
Planetarium
The Hammond Planetarium field trip from several weeks ago was cancelled by Henry Ford College because their machine broke. Thankfully, it has been repaired and we are able to reschedule our field trip for Friday, March 27th. I will be sending a permission slip home soon. We will need parent drivers and chaperones, too. Please respond on the slip if you are able to assist. Thank you
