SUPER PINK MOON TOMORROW NIGHT!

Skywatchers can look forward to an event. A super pink moon will appear on April 7. It will be the brightest supermoon of 2020.

The super pink moon peaks at 10:35 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. It is called EDT for short. EDT is the time for the East Coast of the United States. When it is 10:00 p.m. on the East Coast it is 7 p.m. on the West Coast. The West Coast is on Pacific Standard Time. This is because different parts of the world are in different time zones.

A supermoon comes with a full moon. It happens on the same night the moon reaches perigee. Perigee is the closest point in its circling around Earth.

The moon will not be pink. It will be orange starting out. It will get white as it rises up. The pink name comes from pink flowers called creeping phlox. They bloom in spring.

SPRING BREAK-relax and reflect…

Final Announcements for the Week:

Thank you parents and students for all your hard work this week. Please read the following below for what 4th grade is going to look like after Spring Break.

Looking forward to after Spring Break, students will need a notebook or pieces of paper to do their math on. I will be sending a pdf of the math book for students to follow along with. If you have a printer, then you can print the pdf and work on the pages that I assigned. If you do not have a printer, I will be making a video to show how you can do the math problems on a sheet of paper. Also, I will be using Zearn to track student’s progress, so please try to log into Zearn using your device to make sure it works. Lastly, if you are denied access from watching the math videos and/or taking the Math Exit Ticket, then please email me at vuichaa@dearbornschools.org

Also, please take this week’s Math Exit Ticket, and the Weekly Survey. If you want to take the weekend to finish the assignments, we would greatly appreciate it.

Weekly To-Do List Check In: https://forms.gle/CApFxaT6foEXJVQR9

Math Exit Ticket (It’s also on Google Classroom): https://forms.gle/yuQMbBzp3tESeTZh6

After Spring Break Science and Social Studies will be set up through Google Classroom. We will let you know the new set up right after our break. This is a work in progress but we hope it will alleviate the problems we have been experiencing.

For Reading and Writing, this is definitely our biggest area of concern and we will be meeting over the next week to decide what it will look like when we return after our break. Please log on to iReady for your reading and word work. You have an account and we want you to use it.

Again, thank you parents for your support during this time. We know it is hard and we are here to support you. Please email us if you have any questions or concerns.

We hope you and your family have a great Spring Break!

SURVEY SAYS…

Weekly To Do List Check In (March 30th to April 3rd)
Parents and Students!

Please complete the survey below together. This survey is our way for the 4th Grade Teachers to check in on our families during online learning. It also serves as a check list of assignments that should have been completed by today. If you did not complete the assignments, then please take the time over the weekend to complete them before Monday.
Remember Spring Break is next week, so there will be no assignments during that time. We will continue remote learning on April 13th.
Thank you parents and students for all your hard work this week!

Hello April,

Next week, Doug is inviting students into his home for a LIVE, 20-minute science show. He’ll answer real kids’ questions about the current situation we’re all dealing with, as well as share a few fun surprises.

EXPELLIARMUS BORDEOM!

Hi Everyone,

JK Rowling has launched a new Harry Potter HUB for kids at home.

Check out the MAGIC here…

The first Harry Potter audiobook for free for everyone

A big thank you to our friends at Audible, who invite you to listen to the first Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone as many times as you like in the coming weeks. This is one of many classic books that will be available on Audible’s new platform, stories.audible.com. – take a look and see what you can find.

The first Harry Potter book will be available to listen to for free in six different languages (English, Spanish, French, Italian, German and Japanese). And our American readers will be interested to know that this is the Stephen Fry edition of the audiobook, rather than the US version which features the equally talented Jim Dale. So, you’ll get to hear Harry’s story told with an entirely new voice! We can confirm that Stephen does an excellent Dumbledore.

Visit our new Harry Potter At Home hub

Here on WizardingWorld.com, we’ve built a dedicated space for you to visit which we’ll be updating all the time for your enjoyment. This special Harry Potter At Home hub is where you’ll find all the latest things to keep you occupied – from special activity kits from Bloomsbury to Scholastic, to nifty magical craft videos (teach your friends how to draw a Niffler!) fun articles, quizzes, puzzles and more. We’re casting a Banishing Charm on boredom.

You can visit the Harry Potter At Home hub here – and keep on visiting the page whenever you like. Just like Hogwarts and its staircases, this page will be changing all the time.
