Chocolate is always the right answer…

Greetings Parents,

Thanks to Mrs. Greco all fourth graders had a little treat on their desks this morning.  We started the M-Step (Math) around 9:00. We took a snack break around 10;15-the kids loved the clementines.

Mrs. Batha is bringing in a class treat tomorrow. We kept working on the test until 11:00. Some of the kids finished, most did not. We will carry on tomorrow!

Thanks for all your support and cooperation,

a. cronin

M-STEP IS HERE!

Hello,

We will begin testing tomorrow. It looks like we will be testing all week-Tuesday thru Friday. All specials have been rescheduled for the afternoon.

Each day we will take a “brain” break in the middle of the testing. If you would like to donate a healthy snack for the class that would be greatly appreciated. I will be bringing one in for the class tomorrow-some clementines. Otherwise, please make sure your student gets a good night’s sleep and eats some breakfast. We will be working on MATH and then SCIENCE on Friday.

take care everyone,

a. cronin

A Rose is A Rose is A Rose…

Good Evening!

Next week the fourth grade teachers thought it might be fun to have a POETRY SLAM. Students have been looking for a poem that they like and that they can memorize. I am encouraging kids to have fun with this event-bring in props, act out the poem, be dramatic in the presentation. Hopefully it will provide us with a little levity in the afternoons next week. Students should be ready to SLAM their poems by next Friday.

sincerely,

a. cronin

THE SECRET OF LIFE IS ENJOYING THE PASSAGE OF TIME…

Good Evening Friends,

Our NWEA testing has come to an end. Next Tuesday we will start the M-Step. We will start with the math portion of this test. We are scheduled to work on the math for three days. The following week will include reading and science. The M-Step testing conditions require the classroom to be free of print-like anchor charts, posters, etc. So I have been taking down our classroom…it’s a little bitter sweet. It’s almost time to say farewell … Adieu…So long to a wonderful group of students and parents.

I thought I would look back at some photos from the beginning of the year. So here are some photos of our first field trip-we had to reschedule due to heavy rains-our destination, the OAKWOOD Nature Center-we canoed, walked the trails, learned about early French explorers and had a bunch of FUN!

thanks for the memories-enjoy-sincerely,

a. cronin

NWEA MATH TEST IS TOMORROW!

Good Evening,

Students will begin taking the MATH portion of the NWEA test tomorrow with Mrs. Izbicki. Students have been reviewing and practicing on the ChromeBooks for this test. All students know how to access the NWEA practice sites. Spending 20-30 minutes tonight might be good use of time. Also, this will allow you to see some of the material that the test will cover.

Next Tuesday we will start the M-Step.

Sincerely,

a. cronin

May the Fourth Be with YOU!

Greetings Everyone!

We had a guest reader yesterday from fifth grade. She read the book ISH. She is a former student of mine. The kids asked her questions about fifth grade, market day and what she is going to miss most about elementary school. It was a nice visit.

Well, it looks like a rainy night . Hope to see lots of you tomorrow. Mr. Short will be cutting the ribbon at 12:30 to welcome all of our new stores. Looks like a fun day.

Take care everyone,

a. cronin.             M
