Ramadan

I was wandering the book stores and noticed this wonderful display of books about Ramadan. Many of our Muslim friends will be fasting between sunrise and sunset. For those of you observing, I wish you a special, reflective Holy Month.

HAPPY MEMORIAL WEEKEND!

Greetings Everyone!

M-Step is officially over for this year.  Everyone worked hard on these tests.

When we return from the long weekend we will have our final PBIS CELEBRATION on Wednesday, May 31. This event is the entire lunch time from 11:25-1:15 and will include an all school picnic. Students are encouraged to bring a bagged lunch, towel or blanket to sit on and perhaps some outdoor toys.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Here are some photographs from January. Enjoy!

In a World where you can be anything, BE KIND.

Most of the class finished the M-Step today. We will finish officially tomorrow.

I want to send out special THANK YOU’s to Mrs. Batha, Mrs. Hamid and Mrs. Harajli. These parents brought in many great snacks for the kids to enjoy during the testing. It really made  a difference-everyone loved the snacks. THANK YOU!

Money Makers from Market Day-Dem Boyz!

There were many winners from market day. However, the group who brought in over 2,000 dollars in market day bucks was a group of five called “DEM BOYZ”.  They were treated to pizza, coke and cookies along with watching highlights from the NBA 2017 season on the promethean board. We had a fun time!

Again, many thanks to all of you for making market day a very successful event.

THINK GREEN-WEAR GREEN!

Good Evening Friends,

Students started the ELA M-Step today. We will finish this test on Tuesday.

This afternoon we spent a little time getting ready for our CLEAN UP PARADE.  The parade is on Monday. It will start at 1:30. The grand Marshall will be Mayor O’Reilly. The last time Haigh had parade these kids were in Kindergarten. The class decorated a foam visor to wear during the parade. Also, small groups were each given a flattened card board box. Each group had to use the box to deliver an appropriate message for the parade. It was interesting to watch the kids come up with a variety of designs and messages. It should be a fun afternoon. I hope you can join us.

I’m  including this very cute picture of my cat, Mona. I forgot to take pictures of the clean up parade work.

sincerely,

FREEZE TAG-YOU’RE IT!

My Goodness Everyone!

The class completed two SCIENCE tests and then tip-toed down the third grade hall (they are also taking the M-Step) and played FREEZE TAG on the playground equipment. It was a blast-they had so much fun playing all together. Of course, it was boys against the girls…

Tomorrow we will start the ELA test partly because next week is so very busy-CLEAN UP PARADE ON MONDAY AFTERNOON, FIELD DAY WEDNESDAY AND NO SCHOOL FRIDAY!

stay cool everyone,

88 DEGREES AND CLIMBING…

Wow-that was our classroom temperature today! However, everyone worked hard to complete all of the M-Step MATH. Tomorrow we will take SCIENCE and Friday we will start the READING.

Many thanks to NATASHA BATHA (Connor’s mom) for bringing in lots of great snacks-kids were treated to cheese and crackers and granola bars!  The kids loved it and I think he helps their testing attitude in many ways. Also, Talia brought in fruit roll ups for everyone. We enjoyed them in the afternoon before heading down to Gym.

Thanks, always, for your support and cooperation,

a. cronin
