Pond Study Photographs!

Students were able to use aqua nets to scoop off the top of  the pond. They emptied their nets into a large, deep tray. They examined what was in the tray-lots of living things!!! Tadpoles, water bugs, plants and more!

FIELD TRIP TOMORROW-a small CHANGE!

Hello All!

We had a wonderful day! I think we will all sleep well tonight. Lunch, recess and nine different stations to experience. Ask your student-it was a blast!

Tomorrow is our field trip to the University of Michigan Dearborn’s Campus. We will NOT leave school until 10:30! So if you are one of our PARENT DRIVERS please come to Haigh at 10:30, not at 9:00. We still need YOU! We only have one bus for all fourth grades.

Once we arrive at U of M we will be divided into two groups. One group will start with a POND STUDY and the other group will be be on a guided nature walk. We will eat our lunch and then the groups will switch activities.

Please  send your student with a paper bag lunch. Also, I think long pants, long sleeve shirts, and good walking shoes (Please NO sandals) are a must! I also recommend a hat! I am spraying my hat and shoes with bug spray.

Thanks again for your support and your cooperation.

sincerely,

a. cronin

FUN IN THE SUN!

Good Evening Everyone!

We had a wonderful day! Our picnic and play time was absolutely FABULOUS!

The fourth grades ate together on the playground. Everyone brought a little something to share-either blankets, food or fun play things. The weather was perfect and everyone enjoyed playing or visiting with kids from other classes. Our class even got to spend some time with our kindergarten buddies.

When we came back to our classroom we worked on a social studies project. Enjoy the pictures!

See You at the Parade!

Greetings Everyone!

I hope all is well with all of you! Memorial Day is tomorrow. This day honors men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. It was originally known as Decoration Day and originated in the years following the Civil War. It became a federal holiday in 1971.

Dearborn is host to one of the largest and oldest parades in Michigan. This will be year 93! Wow!

The theme this year is “women in the military”. The parade will feature more than 60 marching bands, hundreds of veterans and flyovers from a Coast Guard helicopter, and a historic aircraft and military jets.
