Fourth Grade, Room 4, Ms. Cronin-looking forward to meeting YOU!

Greetings to All!

Many teachers have been working in their classrooms this week getting ready for the new school year.

It’s always a lot of work-creating a space for learners-a place where all students can develop into independent learners-a classroom that is relevant to students’ needs and interests-active learners need a space that develops these skills and teachers who support, encourage, and enjoy the students in their classrooms. I am really looking forward to meeting all of you and working together to create a wonderful and productive fourth grade year.

Sincerely,

April Cronin

Welcome to FOURTH GRADE!

Welcome 4th grade Parents and Students!

We are hoping you’ve had a wonderful summer.  We are looking forward to a great, new year. We want to share with you some important information that will help make 4th grade successful for your child.

This new school year, the three 4th grade classes will be switching for Math, Science, and Social Studies. As a result of this, we feel it would be beneficial that each student had a pencil case/supply box, or something that will make it easy for them to carry supplies from room to room.

The supply list  that came home at the end of last year in the Report Card envelope is the suggested list of supplies.

We look forward to meeting you and your child on Tuesday, September 5th for our first half day of school together!  If you have any questions before the school year begins, please feel free to email any of us.

See you soon!

Ms. Cronin, Mrs. Greco, and Mrs. Izbicki

HAPPINESS IS…

…seeing my students happy. We had an interesting day. We started by helping Mr. Short set up for the fifth grade promotion. We then had an all school “clap off” for the fifth grade. Afterwards we helped clean up after the promotion-but were rewarded with cookies. Then we said our final goodbyes to each other.

Many thanks for the wonderful gifts, messages, cards and hugs. I hope everyone has a wonderful summer.

Signing off for 2016-2017 fourth grade school year-peace!

Fourth Grade Talent Show, Farewell Party and Two Great Room Moms!

Greetings!

The fourth graders performed today-dances, songs, gymnastics, jokes and a little magic. It was very fun!

In the afternoon we were treated to a wonderful farewell party. Each student received a beach ball to use to collect autographs. Then we had cupcakes and juice.

I want to give a BIG shout out of THANKS to Mrs. Batha and Mrs. Harajli. They have worked all year to make our classroom parties and celebrations fun and memorable. Also, thanks to all of you who were able to help in many other valuable ways:chaperoning  field trips, sending in treats for parties or birthdays, or helping your student with special projects throughout the year.

Again, many thanks for all you have done to make our year together successful!

sincerely,

a. cronin

I can no other ANSWER make but thanks, and thanks and ever thanks…W. Shakespeare

Today was very hot…especially in our classroom. We still managed to invite one of the third grade classes in to share some of our fourth grade expertise. Students were in pairs and discussed life in fourth grade. It was fun. Here are some photographs of the books the class made called, Diary of a Fourth Grader.

stay cool,

PICNIC TOMORROW!

All students should bring a bagged lunch. Also, they can bring sports equipment, hula hoops, bubbles, cards, and anything else they would like for some fun in the sun!

Looks like it is going to be HOT! We have parents who are bringing watermelon slices and other cool treats.

We hope you can stop by and visit for a while.

Many thanks for all you support and help throughout the school year.

cheers!

…AND YET, ENTIRELY DIFFERENT…

One more week of fourth grade! I am posting photographs that I took of the class the first week of school. I asked them to find something in the room that represented their interests. Some chose books, others art supplies and some toy figures from comics or movies. Our end of the year picnic will be on MONDAY…we will walk over to Levagood around 9:15. Since it looks to be the hottest day of year so far we may come back to school closer to 2:00. I hope you can stop by and visit for part of our day. Many thanks to all of you for making this a wonderful year!
