I am looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new friends next week. We have been working in our classrooms all week. Fourth grade is always an exciting year. I look forward to meeting my new students and their families on Monday morning, August 27.

We will have an outdoor PICNIC and play time tomorrow on our playground. Yes, it is very hot! We encourage everyone to wear sun block, sun hats, bring a blanket or towel, and plenty of water! If it gets too hot we will come inside and enjoy some indoor play time. The cafeteria will be serving a sack-n-go lunch to those who would like that. Your student can also bring games, bubbles, chalk, or any other outdoor fun toy.

Most of our fourth graders have finished both parts of the M-STEP. Last week students worked on the reading and writing test. This week math.
On Monday the school is hosting the annual field day. Grades K through Second will enjoy the field day in the morning. Third through fifth grades from 1:00-3:00. This is a super FUN DAY! If you would like to volunteer please call the office or email Mr. Peecher (peeches@dearbornschools.org) for more information. Students should dress for an active day outside. Please send water and snacks with your student

It was a FABULOUS Market Day! Many thanks to all of you for supporting your students. We had a great turn out-the kids were so very excited and we had a wonderful and educational day!

It a BIG day for the fourth grade-it’s MARKET DAY!
Please join us at any time during the afternoon. Our ribbon cutting ceremony starts around 12:30. MR. SHORT is schedule to welcome these new businesses to Haigh and cut the ribbon after our lunch. Then the sales begin. Remember each shopper will receive 25 dollars in PLAY MONEY. Third graders will start their shopping around 1:30.

we are having an all school picnic tomorrow. The fun lunch starts at 11:30. Students are encouraged to bring a blanket, games, bubbles, etc. This event combines our school wide PBIS celebration ( Art in the Park) with our rescheduled Earth Day picnic.
Cafeteria will only be serving a bagged lunch of cheese sticks, crackers and fruit.
What a great afternoon! The fourth grades hosted an afternoon of fun! Fourth graders created games from boxes and other recycled items. We invited the first grades to play . Many fourth graders brought candy, small toys, and other fun prizes for the players to win. It was a BLAST!

Goodness Me…here we are at the end of April. It’s kinda hard to believe that the year is almost over. There is lots going on however. So let’s start with next week:
Monday-PBIS Art in the Park and an all school outdoor picnic-11:30-1:15
Tuesday-M Step testing starts for fourth and third grades.
Friday-MARKET DAY-please join us Friday from 12:30-3:00. There are many unique items and the kids are really excited.
FYI-students will be taking the Reading/Writing M Step next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We will start the MATH portion the following week. After M Step we begin the last round of NWEA TESTING.
