Many Thanks to All!
Greetings to All,
Thank you so much for visiting me tonight. So many families and friends made their way to Room 4 to say hello. Many former students and their families took the time to stop in and visit. It was so wonderful to see students I’ve known since they were 5 years old!
Many thanks to all my new fourth graders and their families for coming to our Open House. It was very nice to meet all of you! I am very excited about the new school year and look forward to a fun and rewarding year.
Sincerely,
April Cronin

Meet the Teacher…Hey, that’s me, Ms. Cronin!
Good Evening to ALL,
Mrs. Izbicki and I will be available to meet with parents BEFORE school next
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 from 8:00-8:30.
OPEN HOUSE is next THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, from 6:00-7:00. Open house is a great opportunity for your students to show you around their classroom. PTA will be hosting light refreshments in the cafeteria. This is always a FUN and BUSY evening. That is why we would like to provide another opportunity for you to meet the teachers and ask specific questions about routines, activities and curriculum.
IF YOU CAN NOT MAKE EITHER OF THESE EVENTS WE ARE ALWAYS WILLING TO ARRANGE ANOTHER DAY AND TIME.

Snacks and two fifteen minute recess breaks…
Hello,
All Dearborn Elementary students will have a 15 minute morning recess and a 15 minute afternoon recess.
Our morning recess is usually outside of our classroom on Coburn Street. Students usually eat a snack, visit with each other and toss the football around. The afternoon recess is on our school playground. Today was so very hot we stayed inside and Students had some free time.

WORKING IN TEAMS TO BUILD THE TALLEST STRUCTURE!
Greetings!
Students brought home our updated class special schedule. Next week we will add more routines to our 4th grade day. Students will switch from 12:00-1:00. My class will go across the hall to
Mrs. Izbicki’s classroom for MATH. Her kids will come to me for SCIENCE and SOCIAL STUDIES.
Also, next week we will add WORD WORK (SPELLING) to our day. Students will bring home 15 words each week. We will have a spelling test every FRIDAY.
This afternoon students worked in teams to build a tall and stable structure. They were given 20 pieces of spaghetti noodles, one marshmellow and two feet of masking tape. Each group came up with unique designs. They had a great time!
Enjoy the long weekend,
Familiar Routines-Choosing Good Fit Books for READING!
Greetings to ALL!
Here are a few routines our class is getting use to:
Fourth Grade lunch is from 11:15 until 11:55…a lot earlier and a little longer-
Gym-Monday and Thursday afternoons
Art-Tuesday and Friday afternoons
Music – Wednesday afternoon
Technology-Monday morning
Fourth graders no longer meet with Mr. Neff but will have a weekly book check out on Fridays.
Today we reviewed parts of our literacy program-DAILY5-we discussed GOOD FIT BOOKS, filled our BOOK BINS with new new books and READ TO SELF for an extended period of time.
The class is doing a GREAT job. We are doing our best to stay cool and enjoy these first few days of a new class.
sincerely,
Ms. Cronin
