Good Morning 4th Grade Families! 

There are only 12 1/2 more school days until the Last Day of School (Thursday, June 11th).

Homework and Announcements for the week:

No More Google Meet Sessions! We are no longer allowed to use Google Meets as a Communication Tool for the Students. Please be patient as the district is trying to find the safest way to live chat with our students.

Office Hours: Monday-Friday 8:35 am t o 3:35 pm All 4th Grade Teachers can answer questions via email, class dojo, or blog 

Homework

(20 minutes) Math: We will continue our learning in Geometry this week. We have this week and next week for math, then we are done! Last Day of Math instruction is Friday, June 5th.  Students will have homework every night with an exit ticket given on Friday. We will do Lessons 10, 11, 12. Please be sure to do the Zearn lessons assigned below. This will help students learn the content that I will be teaching.

(20 minutes) Writing Prompt

This week you are to write a song about the school year. It can be about something fun you remember about 4th grade, how the year was different because of the virus, or anything else to do with fourth grade. Be creative.

(20 minutes) Science on Tuesday:

Read the article that is linked on Google Classroom: Tuesday Science – Animals Using Their Body Systems. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ON THE ASSIGNMENT. When you are done with reading the article, answer the questions. 

 (20 minutes) Social Studies on Wednesday:

There will be a lesson posted each Wednesday for Social Studies on Google Classroom. This week’s lesson is a Readworks article. Please read the article then answer the questions. If you have not finished your “thank you” sign for essential workers please do that this week too. 

Remember to display your “thank you” sign for the essential workers. 

(20 minutes) Fun Activity on Seesaw

Take the song you wrote about school and share it on Seesaw. You can read it, sing it, or type it up.

If you are from Ms. Cronin’s class please use these directions:

  1. Go to app.seesaw.me
  2. Choose “I’m a Student”
  3. Type in the code: LNPZ DEBV. This code expires on April 23, 2020
  4. Finish creating your account using your school Google account 

If you are from Ms. Vuichard or Mrs. Greco’s Class use these directions:

  1. Go to app.seesaw.me
  2. Choose “I’m a Student”
  3. Sign in using your school Google account Click on your profile icon on the top left
  4. Find the Assignment “Share a joke or riddle” and read the directions

(20 minutes for each subject) Art/Music/Technology: Art, Music, Technology assignments will be given through google classroom.

  2. Press the plus sign in the upper right hand corner.

  • Science Video & Comprehension Questions: What’s An Engineer?
  • Science Challenge: Engineering with Candy!

The link will take students to a Google Form where they will complete their science activity for the week. Please ask them to read all the questions before starting the assignment. PLEASE NOTE that it will be very helpful for students to complete these assignments with an adult or an older sibling.

They have until June 3rd to submit the form.

Every Thursday students can start their science enrichment activities and will have until Wednesday the following week to submit them.

Here I am…with my family…at Camp Dearborn…I’m not looking too happy…we had to get up early to get our picture taken…but afterwards I’m sure we had fun…it was always a fun time!

CURB SIDE SERVICE-PLEASE READ!

Greetings,

Families will be able to pick up student’s personal items either Tuesday or Wednesday. I went through all desks and lockers and filled up grocery style brown bags with items. There are notebooks, math books, supply boxes, lunch bags and some coats. If you can not make it this week there will be other opportunities-please check on Mr. Short’s blog.

I miss all of you.

Resource Pick Up days: ( THIS WEEK)
Tuesday, May 19th from 1:00-3:00pmWednesday, May 20th from 1:00-3:00pm
***Check your classroom teachers communication portal for the day that they will be passing out resources***
***THIS WILL BE A DRIVE THRU SERVICE ON BOTH DAYS***
Steps for pick up: For maximum protection we will be placing your students’ resources in a brown bag labeled with their First Name, Last Name, grade level and Teacher. Pick-up will be a drive through service. Grades K-1-2 will pick up using the Silvery Lane drop off lane. Grades 3-4-5 will pick up using the Coburn drop off lane. Parents please place a sign in your passenger window with the names of your student(s)(First Name, Last Name, Grade Level and Teacher. When you pull up to the grade level station, we will then place the brown bag of resources into your trunk and you will be all set 🙂  Returning Haigh Items-We will have bins set up for safety belts, classroom books, library books, etc..Please place items in a clear/plastic bag that is labeled with the classroom teacher’s name or library.  ***These items can be placed in your trunk and we will take out while placing your students brown bag of resources. ***Following these steps will keep everyone safe and healthy, thank you for your help and cooperation 🙂
