Good evening students and parents!
The fourth grade team sent home a reading log today with all students. We are asking for parents to support this system and encourage your student to read a little every night. I discussed with the class the importance of good habits and routines. I told them to start with five, uninterrupted minutes of reading tonight or even this week. Then add time each week. We would love for students to choose to read and to find good fit books that make them excited to read. Ideally, 20 to 30 minutes of reading-4 or 5 times a week – will established good reading routines and provide students with extra reading practice. Also, reading to younger siblings at home is good practice and meaningful for the older student. They can record this reading on their logs too.
Our special schedule has changed this week. When the schedule is set I will send home a paper copy for you to have. WE HAVE GYM ON THURSDAY this week.
Lunch is going well. All 4th grades have a morning snack/ recess break. Please send in a healthy snack. Water bottles are encouraged too.
That’s all for now,
A. Cronin
