MATH FACTS MATTER!

on October 29, 2019

Greetings,

Student ALWAYS have MATH HOMEWORK! Please practice multiplication facts with your student. Students last week reviewed their multiplication facts for zero and one. This week are facts with two.
Please check Miss Vuichard’s blog for homework assignments and links to practice these facts at home.

WRITING-fourth graders are writing opinion papers. We have read articles on two topics: Instagram and School parties. Students state their opinion and write two reasons that support their opinion. Students are using an opinion writing template or blueprint to record their ideas (rough draft) and then after sharing this with me they type their papers in to a word document.

READING-all fourth graders are working on understanding HISTORICAL TEXTS. We have a new resource for reading. This resource is aligned with the common core. The Lesson format includes whole group, partner reading and individual practice. We are reading non fiction texts and are practicing various skills, like identifying cause and effect or identifying main idea with supporting details.

Halloween plans are in place. Many thanks to parents who have emailed me with plans for their donations to our party. It really is greatly appreciated! We will have a pizza lunch, play some games, and pass out candy. Students will be making a treat bag on Thursday morning to use to collect their goodies. We will also have ART and GYM on Thursday afternoon. The all school parade is schedule for 2:50. However, it does look like rain. We might have an indoor parade. We will see.

FRIDAY IS THE END OF THE CARD MARKING AND IS A HALF DAY OF SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS-Teachers will be at school working on report cards and lesson plans.

ALSO, NEXT TUESDAY IS NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS (ALL DAY )DUE TO THE ELECTION.

Many THANKS for all your support and cooperation,

A. Cronin
