HelloEveryone!
Tomorrow is May 1! It’s hard for me to realize our year together is almost over. It seems to have gone by so quickly.
May Day can be a seasonal celebration or a day to celebrate worker’s rights-or a little bit of both.
When I looked into the origins of May Day I wondered if it was related to the distress call, “mayday, mayday!” I guess the distress call comes from the French term m’aidez, which means ” help me.” Nothing wrong with a little French lesson to go along with the holiday’s history.
This first week in MAY will be busy-along with the rest of this month. This week we will start with the NWEA reading on Monday and Tuesday (Math NWEA will be next week), a science fair on Wednesday for those who chose to participate and we will end the week with MARKET DAY, on Friday from 12:30-3:00. We will have a ribbon cutting ceremony at 12:30. We hope you can join us at some point to see all of the cool products students have created.
Sincerely, A. Cronin
