We lose ourselves in books, we find ourselves there too.

Greetings Everyone!

Tomorrow is Independent Bookstore Day!  These invaluable places are not just stores, they’re community centers and local anchors run by passionate readers. In a world of tweets and page less digital downloads, bookstores are NOT a dying anachronism. They are living, breathing organism that continue to grow and expand. I often frequent one independent bookstore in Oak Park called the BOOKBEAT.  In celebration of this day I have chosen two outstanding students and readers to share with you their bounty of books that they have read this year . All books were purchased by me from the Bookbeat. Rayan and Yasmeen have read over 60 books each this year. Some of their favorites were Wonder, The Dollpeople, Please write in this Book, Out of My Mind, Savvy, When you Reach Me, to name a few…

Celebrate Reading! Celebrate Independence!     Sincerely, A. Cronin
