Thanksgiving Week

on November 23, 2015

Greetings Parents!

Thanks to all of you for meeting with me during Parent/Teacher Conferences. I hope you know that I am available before or after school to answer questions or concerns regarding your student.

This week we have  our monthly PBIS celebration on Tuesday at 2:30. The reward is bowling in our school gym.

Our class will divide into teams, keep score, and bowl from 2:30-3:15.

We are beginning to do some research on BATS. Our class will be working with Mrs. Lahooti’s fourth graders all year learning about Michigan bats and ways to educate our community members about a serious problem. Bats, throughout the United States and in Michigan, are facing a devastating disease called “white nose syndrome”. This is a fungal disease that has killed millions of bats in North America. Our goal is for our fourth graders to learn about this situation and ways we can help Michigan’s bat population.

Next week we will be looking back in history at the underground railroad and how Michiganders helped slaves find freedom in the North.

In math we continue to practice our multiplication facts, look at fractions and decimals and take a closer look at place value.

Lastly, I hope everyone has an enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday.
