1st Grade:

Content Objective: I can use available resources to solve design challenges
Language Objective: I can participate in discussions about 1st grade topics and texts.
Procedure:

  1. Read Aloud: “Monster and Mouse Go Camping”
  2. Team Exercise:  Design a campsite using clay and various design/sculpting tools. 

2nd Grade:

Content Objective: I can use available resources to solve design challenges.  
Language Objective: I can participate in group discussions about 2nd grade topics.
Procedure:

  1. Read Aloud:  Bradford Street Buddies: Backyard Camp-Out
  2. Team Exercise:  Design a campsite using clay and various design/sculpting tools.

3rd Grade:

Content Objective: I can use available resources to solve design challenges.
Language Objective: I can take an active part in group discussions. I can build on the ideas of others and express my own thoughts clearly.
Procedure:

  1. Read Aloud:  “Eddie’s Tent and How To Go Camping”
  2. Team Exercise:  Design a campsite using clay and various design/sculpting tools.


November 26th-30th

1st Grade:

Content Objective: I can use a variety of digital resources to perform operations, illustrate concepts, and convey ideas. 
Language Objective: I can demonstrate correct posture and finger placement when typing words and phrases.
Procedure:

  1. Discuss the importance of learning to type.
  2. Demonstrate dance mat typing; review how to get to the website via my blog.
  3. Independent Practice.  

2nd Grade:

Content Objective:  I can use a variety of digital resources to seek information, illustrate concepts, and convey ideas.
Language Objective: I can demonstrate posture and finger placement when typing words and phrases.
Procedure:

  1. Writing vs. typing demonstration; discuss the importance of learning how to type, correct finger placement, etc.
  2. Explain/Demonstrate typing.com
  3. Independent work (no accounts yet)

3rd Grade:

Content Objective:  I can use a variety of digital resources to seek information, illustrate concepts, and convey ideas.
Language Objective: I can demonstrate correct posture and finger placement when typing words and phrases.
Procedure:

  1. Writing vs. typing demonstration; discuss the importance of learning how to type, correct finger placement, etc.
  2. Explain/Demonstrate typing.com
  3. Independent work (accounts are currently active); have students go back to the beginning of the beginner lessons and view the online videos/tutorials that are now available.

Procedure:

  1. Review logging on/off
  2. Demonstrate ABCya.com  ABCslider puzzle
  3. Independent Practice.

2nd Grade:

Content Objective: I can use a variety of digital tools to convey ideas and illustrate concepts. 
Language Objective:  I can utilize bookmarks, blogs and web links to navigate the internet.
Procedure:

  1. Review logging on/utilizing weblinks on my blog.
  2. Demonstrate kidsknowit.com–Dinosaur activities
  3. Independent work
