1st Grade:

Content Objective: I can use a variety of digital tools to learn, create, and convey ideas.
Language Objective: I can explain how and why we use technology.
Procedure:

  1. Read aloud “When Charlie McButton Lost Power” Discuss importance of balancing technology time with other unplugged activities.
  2. Demonstrate how to create a digital storyboard on the website “Storyboard that”
  3. Independent Practice.

2nd Grade:

Content Objective: I can interact with internet based learning resources.
Language Objective: I can use technology to seek information, and convey my ideas/illustrate concepts.
Procedure:

  1. Read aloud “When Charlie McButton Lost Power” Discuss importance of balancing technology time with other unplugged activities.
  2. Demonstrate how to create a digital storyboard on the website “Storyboard that”
  3. Independent Practice.

3rd Grade:

Content Objective: I can interact with internet based learning resources.
Language Objective: I can identify and follow the rules for digital citizenship
Procedure:

  1. Digital Citizenship Review–watch “The Nine Elements of Digital Citizenship” on youtube
  2. Review using Mozilla and how to log onto digital passport.
  3. Demonstrate “Evolve” activity on Digital Passport
  4. Independent work.  When students earn their badge for the evolve lesson, they may visit other websites and/or play games.
