Unis:  Check out with 6th grade Language Arts classes.

McCollough: 

1st Grade:  I can navigate websites on an ipad and clear my apps and websites when I am finished.  I can choose the correct verb to complete a sentence.

  1. Read aloud and discuss “The Invisible Boy”
  2. Demonstrate/review iPad basics
  3. Demonstrate the To Bee or Not To Bee activity on funbrain.com
  4. Student independent practice.

2nd Grade:  I can use Blockly to piece together code commands to run a program on code.org.  I can follow written instructions to write code commands and run programs on code.org.

  1. Code.org Star Wars review/demonstration.  Reminded them of the importance of actually reading the feedback that code.org provides when they make a mistake.
  2. Star Wars Video explaining how to create events in code.org
  3. Independent practice.  Code.org:  Star Wars.

3rd Grade:  I can navigate an encyclopedia to look up information about people, places, and things.  I can use an encyclopedia to find and write down two facts about a variety of topics.

  1. Introduction to Encyclopedias:  the type of information they contain, how they are different from dictionaries and thesauri, how to find what you are looking for.
  2. Independent Practice in locating information in the correct volume of an encyclopedia.

Stout:  check out with 6th grade Language Arts classes;  students are coming and going to complete projects that are due this week.
