SURA Arts Academy Photography Spring 2018!

The Arab American National Museum’s (AANM) SURA Arts Academy starts back up for 2018!  In the 10-week course, photography students will explore, document, and learn the art of photography.  Students will have the opportunity to speak with professional photographers and explore their community, identity, and culture through the lens of their camera.

This semester, the theme for the class is harmony, unity, and community, with a focus on social justice and empowerment through not only their camera lens but through social media, as students take control of our Instagram page!  The program will take place at AANM every Tuesday, starting February 6th – April 24th from 4:30-6:30pm.  As with all SURA classes, the students final work will be celebrated and displayed in AANM’s gallery space in Summer/early Fall of 2018.

What’s it All About…ACCESS’ 21st Century Program

Please view the Happenings in the Dearborn Public Schools, which is hosted by the Superintendent, Dr. Glenn Maleyko.  This segment, which originally aired last fall (October 2016) gives everyone an idea of all the great things that the ACCESS 21st Century Program provides to student-participants, not only academically, but socially & emotionally.   In short, all ACCESS 21st Century Programs are an extension of the school day and provide student-participants the knowledge, skills, attitudes, behaviors, and beliefs to continue to become great students and citizens! 🙂
