As students take the NWEA MAP test, and any other assessment throughout the year, it is the expectation that students will show growth in their scores throughout the year. Roary from the Detroit Lions paid a visit to Mrs. Harb’s 5th grade class last week. This was the result of 5th grader Rita Salamey winning a writing contest that was organized by the Lions. Her story was chose from about 100 entries all across Michigan. Rita’s story was published into a hardcover book, and Roary presented to Rita right before she read the story to her class. Roary brought gifts for Rita and her classmates, along with pizza and treats for the entire class! Way to go, Rita!!
As you all may know by now, all of Dearborn Schools are collecting water to send to Flint. However, McCollough-Unis is adopting a specific school. All water collected will go directly to the families of the students at this school. Please consider dropping off a case of water at McCollough-Unis before or after school. There will be a truck parked on the sidewalk in front of the school at 7801 Maple St. Thanks!
