Enrichment Learning Updates

Good afternoon everyone,

We wanted to take a few minutes to reflect on our first few days of this online learning we are navigating together. We appreciate so much that many of our students have found time to not only work toward completing this first weeks work but have also taken time to go ahead with many of the assignments to advance in our process. With that being said, I want to clear up and establish some fixes that we notice:

1. Some clearing up of what is expected with the iReady and Khan Academy. You are to choose one platform OR another not both. If you choose iReady, there will be one teacher assigned lesson per week and three My Path lessons that need to be completed. With Khan Academy, there is already three teacher assigned lessons but you only need to complete the one that has the due date for that week. Khan will also be checked each week for three lessons done on either mappers or for course mastery. Those are up to the students to choose.
2. The CERs are also only due at one per week. We released all three at once to allow the everyone to work at their own pace. Each one has its own due date so please pay attention to those if you are looking for which ones to do first.
3. This is the biggest challenge we have encountered so far. We are so happy that a lot of our students are submitting their CERs early so we can comment and allow for corrections but what we are noticing is a lot of our students having the exact same answers. Not similar but exact. This is leading us to believe some of you are copying answers and not doing the work on your own. Any students found sharing answers will not be counted toward completion. Please make sure the work you are submitting is your own otherwise there is no point in completing these to keep up on your learning.
