Time sure flies when you love what you do! \u00a0I have many exciting things planned this year in the areas of literacy, math, science and social studies. \u00a0As of right now, we have 23 students registered to be in our class; \u00a010 girls and 13 boys.<\/p>\n<p>Dearborn Public Schools has a \u201cSoft Start\u201d program for incoming kindergarten students this year. The purpose of the Soft Start program is to provide shorter days and an awesome introduction to the kindergarten teacher and to your child\u2019s school on a part-time schedule for the first week of school.<\/p>\n<p>The start of school is an exciting time in the lives of children and families. Our goal for Soft Start is to make the start to school positive and successful for all students. Thank you for your patience with the part time schedule. Your child will need to arrive to school at 8:35 a.m. and will be dismissed at 11:45\u00a0a.m. each day for the first week. \u00a0During soft start (September 6-8) we will be practicing eating lunch in the cafeteria. \u00a0Please pack a healthy lunch or send in lunch money to purchase a school lunch. \u00a0The cost of the school lunch is $2.75.<\/p>\n<p>I look forward to meeting you and your child on Tuesday, September 5 at 8:35 a.m. \u00a0Our class will line up on the #4 (it is painted on the blacktop) on the south side of Lindbergh. \u00a0On the first day, I welcome you to walk in with us and stay in our classroom until around 8:50 a.m. \u00a0Afterwards, our new \u00a0principal, Ms. Tiba \u00a0is requesting \u00a0your presence for a brief informational meeting in the auditorium.<\/p>\n<p>Here is an important link regarding the Dearborn Public School&#8217;s Student Code of Conduct:<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/studentservices.dearbornschools.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/178\/2013\/07\/blog-documents.pdf<\/p>\n<p>What does your child need to bring with them on the first day?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0backpack<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0healthy snack<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What does your child need to bring with them September 6-8th?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>backpack<\/li>\n<li>red Take-Home folder (this will be given to your child on the first day)<\/li>\n<li>dismissal sheet filled out (this will be given to your child on the first day)<\/li>\n<li>healthy lunch with a drink or lunch money to purchase a school lunch $2.75<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Please\u00a0do not bring\u00a0school supplies on the first day of school.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>See you on Tuesday!<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Wright<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>September 1, 2017 Dear Families, My name is Ms. Wright and I would like to welcome you and your child to room 114. \u00a0This is my 23rd year teaching.
