{"id":3948,"date":"2017-02-12T21:37:03","date_gmt":"2017-02-13T02:37:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/wrightt1\/?p=3948"},"modified":"2017-02-12T21:37:03","modified_gmt":"2017-02-13T02:37:03","slug":"week-of-february-13-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/wrightt1\/2017\/02\/12\/week-of-february-13-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of February 13, 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Families,<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/wrightt1\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/547\/2015\/02\/valentine.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2343\" src=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/wrightt1\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/547\/2015\/02\/valentine.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"153\" height=\"133\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Our kindergarten class will be celebrating Valentine&#8217;s Day on Tuesday, February 14 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:35 p.m. \u00a0If you would like to volunteer to help us, please leave a comment below. \u00a0We can use lots of help for this party!!!:)<\/p>\n<p>Here is a list of who is donating what for our party:<\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>3 red, plastic tablecloths-still need a donation<\/li>\n<li>2 liter \u00a0of Cherry 7-Up soda&#8211;Maggie &amp; Molly<\/li>\n<li>2 liters of 7-up soda&#8211;Maryam<\/li>\n<li>Marichino cherries- enough for 21 students&#8211;Maggie &amp; Molly<\/li>\n<li>1 can of whipped cream&#8211;Enna<\/li>\n<li>1 gallon of vanilla ice cream&#8211;Lilly<\/li>\n<li>21 Valentine treats (your choice: \u00a0cookies, cupcakes, etc.)&#8211;Aston<\/li>\n<li>large bag of red Twizzlers ( long twists to be used like a straw)&#8211;Jake \u00a0(received)<\/li>\n<li>box of spoons&#8211;Olivia<\/li>\n<li>21 red large plastic cups (Solo cups)&#8211;Olivia<\/li>\n<li>bag of conversation hearts (small hearts)&#8211;Lilly<\/li>\n<li>21 snack sized Valentine bags of M&amp;M&#8217;s (used for a graphing activity)&#8211;Aleksander (received)<\/li>\n<li>21 white paper bags with handles (used as mailboxes for valentines)&#8211;Noah<\/li>\n<li>foam Valentine stickers used to decorate bags ( enough for 21 students)&#8211;Noah<\/li>\n<li>party plates and napkins&#8211; Keegan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thank you to everyone who is contributing something. \u00a0Make sure to bring in the items on or before\u00a0Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Valentine Cards:<\/p>\n<p>Your child received\u00a0a note about passing out\u00a0Valentine cards in their red folder last\u00a0Monday. \u00a0It contains a list with the names of each\u00a0student in our class. \u00a0This is a fun way for your child to practice writing their own name as well as the names of their friends. \u00a0If your child chooses to do this, please bring the cards on Tuesday, February 14th.<\/p>\n<p><strong>100th Day of School:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ms. Wright, the day flies by so fast when we get to hang out with you! &#8221; exclaimed Keegan last week. \u00a0I really feel the same way. \u00a0I can&#8217;t believe that we are going to celebrate the 100th day of kindergarten on Wednesday, February 15th. \u00a0Your child is invited to dress up as someone who is 100 years old, although some of the students think that is me. \u00a0 We will go to the Media Center to check out a new library book. \u00a0We will go to music with Mrs. Baloga. \u00a0We will celebrate Valentine&#8217;s Day from 2:00 p.m.-3:35 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Wednesday: <strong>Late Start! \u00a0The first bell rings at 9:35 a.m. \u00a0This will allow you extra time to\u00a0\u00a0dress as a 100 year old person for fun. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42\u00a0<\/strong>Bring in a snack for our 100th Day math activity.<\/li>\n<li>Thursday: \u00a0We will go to music with Mrs. Baloga. \u00a0They are busy preparing for the Kindergarten concert on Tuesday, March 14th!<\/li>\n<li>Friday: \u00a0We will go to the computer lab with Mrs. Ackerman and gym with Mr. Murua.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Important Future Dates:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wednesday, \u00a0February 15th: \u00a0Late Start<\/li>\n<li>Monday, February 20- Friday, February 24th: \u00a0Mid-Winter Break<\/li>\n<li>Monday, February 27th: \u00a0Seven Habits of Successful Families Meeting from 6:30-7:30 p.m. \u00a0We had more families from our class than any other class- just saying! \u00a0It was great to see \u00a0the families of Dominic, Enna and Noah there. \u00a0Please join us! \u00a0If you are interested, let me know. \u00a0The cost is $20.00 and it includes the best selling book <strong>Seven Habits of Highly Effective Families<\/strong> by Stephen Covey. \u00a0I will even bake brownies if you come!
