Tuesday:<\/strong> \u00a0Today we will be checking out new books from the Media Center. \u00a0The students will go to music with Mrs. Baloga. \u00a0We will also select new leadership positions today. \u00a0Make sure to ask your kindergartner what position they selected.<\/p>\n Wednesday:<\/strong> \u00a0We will have Mrs. Smith, one of our favorite guest teachers in the morning so I can attend science training. \u00a0Last time she was in our class, she was so impressed with what a wonderful class we have. \u00a0I will be back after lunch, just in time for Mad Science. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n Thursday: \u00a0<\/strong>We will go to music with Mrs. Baloga.<\/p>\n Friday:<\/strong> \u00a0We will go to the computer lab with Mrs. Ackerman and Physical Education with Mr. Murua. \u00a0The “Think Win-Win” Homework sheet is due today.<\/p>\n Monday: (October 31, 2016)<\/strong><\/p>\n Happy Halloween!\u00a0Your\u00a0child is<\/strong>\u00a0invited to wear his\/her\u00a0Halloween costume to school.<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0Please no masks or pretend weapons!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n At 9:00 a.m. the kindergartners will parade down the halls for the rest of the school to see with a short Halloween video and party afterwards.\u00a0\u00a0Around 11:00 a.m., the students will change out of their costumes and we will begin our regular kindergarten routine.\u00a0\u00a0If you are interested in volunteering\u00a0from 9:00-11:00 a.m., please leave a comment below or email me at wrightt1@dearbornschools.org.<\/p>\n If students would like to bring a take-home treat to pass to the class, that would be fine. \u00a0Please make sure that it is peanut-free and enough for 21 students. \u00a0Thanks!<\/p>\n Here is a list of who is bringing what to our party:<\/p>\n Although there are many different things we are working on in class, here is the brief overview:<\/p>\n Language Arts: \u00a0We have been working on “Eagle Eye” and “Lips the Fish” which are good strategies readers use when they come to an unknown word. \u00a0Ask your child to tell you about it.<\/p>\n Math: \u00a0We are starting Unit 2 which is all about sorting and matching objects along with continued practice with number 0-5.<\/p>\n Science: \u00a0We are continuing our study of our Five Senses plus using science tools appropriately.<\/p>\n Social Studies: \u00a0We are working on “Getting Along with Others” \u00a0which ties in with our Leader in Me.<\/p>\n Writer’s Workshop: \u00a0We are working on writing personal narratives. \u00a0Our kindergarten writers love sharing their writing with the class!<\/p>\n![\"halloween\"](\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/wrightt1\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/547\/2016\/10\/halloween.jpg\")
