I am sorry that this post is late. \u00a0I couldn’t get on the blog site yesterday. \u00a0Hope all is well with you. \u00a0Here is \u00a0what is happening in our classroom this week:<\/p>\n
Letters of the Week: \u00a0I \u00a0 i<\/p>\n
Words of the Week: \u00a0 in \u00a0 have<\/p>\n
Science Experiment: \u00a0Ping Pong Blow. \u00a0This went home yesterday and is due on Monday, December 16th. \u00a0Good luck!<\/p>\n
Math Homelinks 3.12 and 3.15 are due by Monday, December 16th.<\/p>\n
Tomorrow is Late Start! \u00a0Please arrive at 9:35 a.m.<\/p>\n
Over the next several days, I will be individually administering a District Math Assessment. to each child in our class. \u00a0I started administering them after lunch today and so far every student has found it very easy!<\/p>\n
In Social Studies, we are studying Needs and Wants. \u00a0Please feel free to ask your child if something is a need or a want. \u00a0This is a great time of the year to be having a conversation about Needs and Wants. \u00a0I know my younger son often gets these two concepts confused! \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
In Science, we are continuing our study of Pushes and Pulls.\u00a0Last week the students made some great ramps out of small wooden blocks and had lots of fun testing them out. \u00a0On Wednesday we will be making our own catapults. \u00a0I can’t wait to see what we launch! \u00a0Thanks for sending in some pictures showing pushes and pulls. \u00a0We could use some more for our bulletin board.<\/p>\n
We have the Raz-Kids subscription up and running! \u00a0Please try it out at home. \u00a0I have received many positive responses about it. \u00a0Your child can either listening to a story or read a story. \u00a0They can actually tape themselves reading \u00a0and then listen to the recording. \u00a0After your child is finished with the story, have them click on the question mark to take the quiz. \u00a0This is a good check to see if they are really understanding the story. \u00a0Another positive thing about Raz-Kids is that it is good practice \u00a0reading on a computer. \u00a0Starting in second grade, many tests will be on-line and your child will need to be able to read on the computer. \u00a0Good luck with the site and feel free to email me if you need any help!<\/p>\n
Also, please ask your child if they need a dry erase marker to use at school. \u00a0We use them all the time and go through them quickly. \u00a0Please send in black only. \u00a0If possible, write your child’s name on it with a permanent marker.<\/p>\n
