of September 26th"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Families,<\/p>\n<p>I hope you are enjoying this beautiful day! \u00a0Here is what you need to know for this upcoming week:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Monday<\/strong>: \u00a0Please have your child place their<strong>\u00a0Nightly Literacy Homework <\/strong>along with their\u00a0<strong>Poetry Notebook<\/strong>\u00a0in their red folder for today. \u00a0Hopefully your child had time to practice last week&#8217;s poem <em>Time for School<\/em> with you over the weekend! \u00a0In the\u00a0morning\u00a0our kindergartners will be taking the NWEA test in the computer lab. \u00a0If your child has a pair of headphones they could use for the computer lab, that would be great. \u00a0Please send them in, labeled with your child&#8217;s name on them. \u00a0<strong>Wear gym shoes<\/strong>\u00a0for Mr. Murua\u00a0and<strong> clothes appropriate for art class <\/strong>with Mrs. Doman.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tuesday<\/strong>: We will be finishing our NWEA testing this morning. \u00a0We will go to music with Mrs. Baloga.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wednesday: \u00a0<\/strong>We will be having some special visitors coming in our class today!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday: \u00a0Picture Day!\u00a0<\/strong>Make sure that your child&#8217;s picture money and envelope are placed in your child&#8217;s red folder. \u00a0We will go to music with Mrs. Baloga.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Friday:<\/strong>\u00a0We will go to the computer lab with Mrs. Ackerman and have gym with Mr. Murua so <strong>wear your gym shoes<\/strong>!<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Some information on NWEA Testing: \u00a0NWEA stands for the Northwest Education Assessment. \u00a0Our kindergarten will take 2 tests; one in reading and one in math. \u00a0The NWEA test will be administered 3 times a year: \u00a0fall\/winter and spring. \u00a0Each test is about 50 questions long. \u00a0I will go over your child&#8217;s\u00a0fall\u00a0results with you in November during parent\/teacher conferences. \u00a0There is no need to stress or have your child stress about taking this test. \u00a0In the past, most students have enjoyed taking this computerized test.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Book Bags<\/strong>: \u00a0This week your child will be bringing home a book bag. \u00a0This bag will contain materials that will help your child reach their literacy goal. \u00a0Since each child in the class have different goals, the materials in each child&#8217;s\u00a0bag will be different. \u00a0Please\u00a0have your child practice each night and return each school day. \u00a0Directions will be on the Learning Log inside. \u00a0The learning Log will need to be signed each night by you. \u00a0Thank you for supporting your child at home. \u00a0Please count this practice time for your child&#8217;s Nightly Literacy homework! \u00a0Good Luck!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thanks
