Letter of the Week: \u00a0Cc<\/p>\n
Words of the Week: \u00a0 my \u00a0 a<\/p>\n
Monday: \u00a0Wear gym shoes. \u00a0Return library books. \u00a0Letter books will be sent home. \u00a0We will go to gym and art today.<\/p>\n
Tuesday: \u00a0We will go to music and the media center to check out library books.<\/p>\n
Wednesday: \u00a0We will go to the Santa Shop today. \u00a0A Santa Shop informational letter and envelopes were sent home on Friday. We will have a guest teacher, Mrs. Smith, in the morning since I will be at a science leader training.<\/p>\n
Thursday: \u00a0We will go to music.<\/p>\n
Friday: \u00a0We will go to gym and the computer lab.<\/p>\n
RAZ- KIDS: \u00a0Tomorrow in your child’s red folder you will receive directions for your child’s RAZ-Kids account. RAZ-\u00a0Kids is an on-line reading program. \u00a0It has hundreds of leveled books for your child to choose from. \u00a0It is a great way for your child to practice reading and listening to stories on the computer. \u00a0Although reading real books is still my favorite way to go, students need practice navigating on the computer especially with all the high-stakes testing they will face. \u00a0 My own sons and former students love using RAZ-Kids. \u00a0The students will take a\u00a0\u00a0quiz after completing a book to check for understanding. \u00a0Note: \u00a0the quizzes start at Level A. \u00a0I will model how to use RAZ-Kids in class so they students will be experts by the time they come home. \u00a0Your child’s RAZ-Kids account was paid by the PTA basket money! \u00a0Thanks again for donating towards our Mad Science basket!)<\/p>\n

Here are just some things we will be working in class over the next few weeks:<\/p>\n
Reading: \u00a0We are working on retelling stories as well as practicing sounds.<\/p>\n
Math: \u00a0We are practicing answering “how many?”<\/p>\n
Social Studies: \u00a0We are continuing our \u00a0study of needs and wants\/ goods and services.<\/p>\n
Science: \u00a0We are studying pushes and pulls.<\/p>\n
Writing: \u00a0We will continue\u00a0opinion writing.<\/p>\n
Leader in Me: \u00a0We will live habits 1-7.<\/p>\n
