{"id":2183,"date":"2015-11-22T15:34:14","date_gmt":"2015-11-22T20:34:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/wrightt1\/?p=2183"},"modified":"2015-11-22T15:34:14","modified_gmt":"2015-11-22T20:34:14","slug":"week-of-november-23-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/wrightt1\/2015\/11\/22\/week-of-november-23-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Week of November 23, 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Families,<\/p>\n<p>I hope you are enjoying this Winter Wonderland this weekend! \u00a0I know my two sons are having a blast in the snow.<\/p>\n<p>Here is what you need to know for this week:<\/p>\n<p>Letters of the Week: \u00a0P p<\/p>\n<p>Words of the Week: \u00a0I \u00a0like<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monday: \u00a0Return library books! \u00a0Wear gym shoes! \u00a0Letter books will be sent home today. \u00a0We are studying the letters P and p. \u00a0Letter books won&#8217;t be due until Friday, December 4th.<\/li>\n<li>Tuesday: \u00a0Please return field trip money, permission slips and waivers. \u00a0We need at least 5\u00a0enthusiastic chaperones to come with us. \u00a0So far we have 2 chaperones signed up! \u00a0I know is sounds daunting to take 41 kindergartners to Krogers but it really is a great field trip and I promise that you will still be welcomed back to shop at Krogers after the trip! \u00a0\ud83d\ude42 \u00a0I promise!<\/li>\n<li>Wednesday, Thursday &amp; Friday: \u00a0No School- Enjoy family time!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>W.I.G \u00a0(Wildly Important Goal) \u00a0After conferences, I had many enthusiastic students telling me how they were practicing\u00a0for our MATH W.I.G., which is to count up to 100. \u00a0If your child feels prepared, have them tell me and I will listen to them count during snack time.<\/p>\n<p>Habit 7: \u00a0Sharpen the Saw- \u00a0no, we are not having students use sharp blades in class. \u00a0Sharpening the saw means to have balance in your life. \u00a0Everyone needs to take time to do things that are good for your mind, body and soul. \u00a0That includes you too parents! \u00a0Have the students learn from your example. \u00a0I try to show the students that I live the Habits too.<\/p>\n<p>Here are just some things we will be working in class over the next few weeks:<\/p>\n<p>Reading: \u00a0We are working on retelling stories as well as practicing sounds.<\/p>\n<p>Math: \u00a0We are practicing answering &#8220;how many?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Social Studies: \u00a0We are studying needs and wants\/ goods and services.<\/p>\n<p>Science: \u00a0We are studying pushes and pulls.<\/p>\n<p>Writing: \u00a0We will begin\u00a0opinion writing.<\/p>\n<p>Leader in Me: \u00a0We will live habits 1-7.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to everyone for sending me pictures of pushes and pulls. \u00a0Our bulletin board is looking great! \u00a0You can email me pictures at wrightt1@dearbornschools.org.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Wright<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Families, I hope you are enjoying this Winter Wonderland this weekend! \u00a0I know my two sons are having a blast in the snow.
