Hello Families,<\/p>\n

Although it will be a short week, it sure will be busy! \u00a0Today we had our first “King of ing!” \u00a0Take a look at Ameena!<\/p>\n

In Social Studies we have been learning about Needs and Wants. \u00a0We have been discussing how we need to eat healthy foods. \u00a0Several students asked the important question of how do we know if something is healthy or not. \u00a0We started looking at labels of \u00a0some of our favorite snacks.<\/p>\n

I put out a variety of snacks for the students to pick, some healthy some not. Zeinab was the only student to pick fruit over cookies or chips. Although it didn’t surprise me about the snack choices of kindergartners, it did surprise me when I took the leftover snacks to a staff meeting and many teachers picked the chips and cookies over the fruit!:)<\/p><\/div>\n

We found out that many of our favorite foods have lots of sugar! \u00a0 Tomorrow we will be actually measuring out how much sugar some of our favorite snacks have. \u00a0This project ties into our upcoming field trip to Kroger. \u00a0Thanks to everyone who brought in their\u00a0field trip permission slip and money! \u00a0I haven’t had a chance to go through all the permission slips yet, but will let you know who will be coming to help us on Tuesday, December 2nd to our field trip to Kroger! \u00a0I will post our chaperones tonight or tomorrow!<\/p>\n
