The State, and our District, have begun the complicated and detailed discussion on the possible reopening of schools for the 2020-21 school year. These discussions will involve experts in instruction, operations, sanitation, transportation, food service, athletics, and many other areas that are part of operating a school district. Please know that any plans developed by the Dearborn Public Schools will need to adhere to directives and Executive Orders issued by the Governor.
Your feedback is required and valued in leading these plans at the district level. Please respond to the survey by June 12, 2020. Please keep an eye out for additional parent surveys in the near future.
For translation assistance, parents may call 313-580-2532 Monday June 8th through Friday June 12th 8:30a.m. through 4:30p.m.

Week of April 20th – Assignments and Updates
Good morning! All of the assignments for the week are posted in my Google Classroom (Mrs. Wolski’s Remote Learning) and ready to go! As I did last week, you will find a lesson plan for the week that lists daily assignments for each subject area. Please remember that per district guidelines, students should only be spending 20 minutes per subject area per day on learning. This will give them time to get outside, help around the house, and explore other creative areas.
Please note that we will begin using Studies Weekly for Science and Social Studies. Studies will log in the same way they normally do using their username@dearbornschools.org and birthday as their password. Please let me know what questions you have regarding this. I posted a screencast from Ms. Little in Google Classroom that shows how to work through the website.
Students will also note that not everyone has the same ReadWorks articles. I have assigned different articles based on reading groups.
Google Meet – I now have a link right on Google Classroom. At 2:00 today, you will click right on that link. No more waiting for me to send you a code! This should streamline things for us all.
Remember to look at the special area teachers to see what they have posted for your students, as well.
District Learning Plan
Take a moment to review Dr. Maleyko’s blog post regarding our Continuity of Learning Plan. You will find a link to the plan and can also view it here, along with other related documents.

Office Hours
Beginning the week of Monday, April 20th, I will be available by phone, email, or Dojo during the following hours:
10:00AM-12:00PM and 1:00PM-3:00PM, Monday-Friday
wolskia@dearbornschools.org
Any messaged received after 3:30 will be answered within 24 hours unless it is the weekend.
Upcoming Class Meetings
Next week, we will have Class Meetings on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 2:00PM. As a reminder, I am taking attendance for these meetings. I love the opportunity to see and interact with students and check in on how learning is going. I look forward to having as many students attend as possible!
I have now placed a link for Google Meet directly on my Google Classroom. To access our meetings, you may click on that link at our scheduled time instead of entering a code each time we meet. This should ease things for everyone!
If this schedule works well, we will continue it for the rest of the year. Let’s see how it goes!
Please review this Google Meet Etiquette Guide for Students. I will discuss this with students on Monday.
