{"id":606,"date":"2014-09-26T09:44:30","date_gmt":"2014-09-26T13:44:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/wiacekm\/?p=606"},"modified":"2014-09-26T09:44:30","modified_gmt":"2014-09-26T13:44:30","slug":"nwea-reading-test","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/wiacekm\/2014\/09\/26\/nwea-reading-test\/","title":{"rendered":"NWEA Reading Test"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Next week, students will take the NWEA Reading Test during their language arts classes. \u00a01st and 4th hour ELA classes will test on Tuesday, September 30th. \u00a02nd &amp; 5th hour ELA classes will test on Wednesday, October 1st. \u00a03rd and 6th hour ELA classes will test on Thursday, October 2nd.<\/p>\n<p>Students took this test twice last year. \u00a0Families received test score information with the March report card.<\/p>\n<p>Since this is an assessment of a student&#8217;s reading ability and knowledge up to this point, there really is nothing to study inpreparation for the test. \u00a0Testing on a computer and the format of the questions, however, can pose a challenge for some students. \u00a0If you&#8217;d like your student to practice prior to the actual test, s\/he can complete sample items online at<\/p>\n<div>Reading Practice:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sowashco.k12.mn.us\/ro\/pages\/studentlinks\/map\/reading.htm\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.sowashco.<wbr \/>k12.mn.us\/ro\/pages\/<wbr \/>studentlinks\/map\/reading.htm<\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Both are set up with games\/activities at levels that correspond to students&#8217; RIT scores from the NWEA MAP test.\u00a0 If a student scores a 215, they should practice skills from the 211-220 section, etc.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. \u00a0You will receive your student&#8217;s test results with report cards in either November or January.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Next week, students will take the NWEA Reading Test during their language arts classes. \u00a01st and 4th hour ELA classes will test on Tuesday, September 30th. \u00a02nd &amp; 5th hour ELA classes will test on Wednesday, October 1st. \u00a03rd and 6th hour ELA classes will test on Thursday, October 2nd.
