Smith attendance policy will be adhered to at all times.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>It is the student\u2019s responsibility to be present in class and on time.&nbsp; Any student who is not in the room when the bell rings will be considered tardy.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>No Cell Phones, IPOD\u2019s, MP3\u2019s and other electronic devices are allowed<\/li><li>All work must be shown on all assignments.&nbsp; Answers without supporting calculations will not be accepted.&nbsp; This applies to all tests and quizzes as well.<\/li><li>RESPECT the teacher, the classroom, and other students<\/li><li>Always have something to read<\/li><li>No passes to retrieve homework<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Needed materials<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A 3-ring Binder 1\u201dor 2\u201d and Dividers (5)<\/li><li>Notebook for note taking. One that can be secured in binder<\/li><li>Pencils<\/li><li>Ruler<\/li><li>Small set of markers&nbsp;<\/li><li>Highlighters<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Work to expect<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Much of the homework will be handed out materials, pages from our math textbook, and google classroom assignments. Throughout the year we will be completing a few projects and other activities. Expect some degree of homework each night (no more than 30 minutes).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>***KHAN ACADEMY will also be assigned as homework, about 1 hour per week. Please notify me if your student does not have internet access at home for this assignment<br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Late, incomplete or incorrect assignments and Exam Retakes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a school, and my expectation that all assignments be handed in on the determined due date. Homework can be turned in immediately after class if forgotten in the lockers.<br>Homework will be checked in daily, if your student could not complete homework for that night (I know that circumstances do happen, please let me know) they have until the next day to turn it in for partial credit. Other than that late work <strong>will NOT<\/strong> be accepted. Obviously, circumstances do happen and can be discussed with me at that time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exam retakes will be done as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Student must correct the problems done incorrectly <br>&#8211; Student must also explain why they got those problems wrong<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*if these requirements are met their grade will be adjusted accordingly*<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Exam corrections are only accepted within 1 week from the original testing date.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br> <strong>Cheating<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/strong>If a student is caught cheating the test will be taken from them at that time. They will have to come in after school to restart and complete the test. They will only be able to receive a 75% at MOST.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cheating will not be tolerated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<strong>Discipline Plan<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <strong>PBIS<\/strong> stands for Positive Behavior Intervention Support. It is a program designed to teach respect, responsibility, and safety at our school. The PBIS Matrix is a guide to help us remember what consequences we will receive for faulty behavior.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Assessments:<\/strong> &nbsp;Students will receive both formative and summative assessments.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Gradebook categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;<strong><em>Summative<\/em><\/strong> (Unit tests and Lesson Quizzes)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;<strong><em>Assessments<\/em><\/strong> (S.L.O.T. Quizzes, Stations work, large assignments such as projects and group work)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; <strong><em>Khan<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp; (Khan Academy requirements)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;<strong><em> Formative<\/em><\/strong> (Homework, bell work, T.O.D)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Students will not receive credit for homework and classwork until it is completed correctly<\/em><\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>There will be a Midterm and Final. Remind101 is a text messaging system that will allow me to send out a text to students and parents reminding them of homework assignments.
