My name is Ms. Jorie Watts.\u00a0 I will be your son\/daughter\u2019s second grade teacher for the 2019\/2020 school year.\u00a0 I am very excited to work with you and your child this year.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>In our classroom, we will venture into many challenging activities.\u00a0 Our journey will be great and enjoyable.\u00a0 Some of our goals to accomplish this year are: mastery of math facts; increased reading fluency and levels; critical thinking skills; various writing genres; character education; as well as building a community and exploratory experiences in Science.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>As a eighteenth year teacher, I have experience in teaching Kindergarten, 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2<sup>nd<\/sup>, 3<sup>rd<\/sup>, and 4<sup>th<\/sup> grade level students.\u00a0 I have a Master\u2019s in Education with Montessori Emphasis and this is my second year at Geer Park Elementary.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>My love for teaching stems from a varied family background of educators.\u00a0 They have instilled in me the desire to enhance learning for success in children. I have high expectations of my students and want them to witness as well as enjoy succeeding.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>In my spare time, I love to travel abroad and within the states, cook, shop, relax, crochet, read and listen to jazz.\u00a0 Spending time with my family is one of my favorite pastimes.\u00a0 I love the colors black and turquoise and enjoy eating Sushi, Cajun foods, and dark, chocolate treats with nuts.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>I am looking forward to a wonderful successful school year and making a difference in your child\u2019s education.
