THANK YOU FOR ATTENDING OUR FIRST PARENT MEETING OF THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR!!\u00a0 THE STUDENTS AND I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT OUR CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS AND OUR LEARNING GOALS, AS WELL AS OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION.\u00a0 RESEARCH HAS PROVEN THAT STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT IS HIGHTER WHEN THE SCHOOL, TEACHER, AND PARENT TAKE PART IN THE LEARNING PROCESS.<\/p>\n

HOMEWORK<\/u><\/p>\n
I am not a big believer in a lot of homework.\u00a0 Any homework your student will receive will be an extension of the learning day.<\/p>\n
Reading is the most important homework your student will get daily.\u00a0 They are to read for a minimum of 30 minutes and are to log what they have read, along with a parent signature.\u00a0 Reading is not only an academic skill, but a life skill.\u00a0 Everything you do in life involves reading!\u00a0 Please ask your child what they are reading and ask them questions!!<\/p>\n
We also have many computer learning websites that we can track students work and growth.\u00a0 MYON, MOBYMAX, AND KHANACADEMY are just a few of the websites.\u00a0 All students know their login and how to use the sites to their full potential.\u00a0 Other valuable websites are listed on the school blog.<\/p>\n

THIS YEAR OUR CLASS WILL BE USING CLASS DOJO FOR MANAGING OUR CLASS POSITIVE BEHAVIOR.\u00a0 I HAVE INCLUDED IN YOUR WELCOME PACKET PARENT INVITES TO ELECTRONICALLY SIGN UP FOR CLASS DOJO FROM HOME.\u00a0 IF YOU SIGN UP, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE ABLE TO STAY CONNECTED AND MONITOR YOUR CHILD\u2019S GROWTH AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE STAYING ON TASK AND WORKING HARD TO REACH THEIR GOALS.<\/p>\n
