Use the day today to hang out and play with your child.  Enjoy time outside in the fresh air and sunshine!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Main Idea:<\/strong>&nbsp; Field Day<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Literacy Activity <\/strong><strong><em>(10 minutes):<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp; Draw and write outside with chalk.&nbsp; Create different pictures, write different names and words, or write different letters and numbers. <em>(Send Mrs. Vasas a picture of chalk drawings outside)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Math Activity <\/strong><strong><em>(10 minutes):<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp; Play with a ball, bike, or scooter outside.&nbsp; Kick the ball back and forth with your child, counting how many times you can kick it back and forth.&nbsp; Have your child ride their bike or scooter around.<em> (Send Mrs. Vasas a picture of your child playing outside)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Play Activity\/Work Time <\/strong><strong><em>(1 hour or more):<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Start (Plan):<\/em> Ask your child \u201cWhat would you like to do today?\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Play (Do): <\/em>Allow your child to play for at least 1 hour of free play time with their toys (no screens-no TV, no tablets).&nbsp; It is important for your child to have time to be creative and use their imagination.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Clean-Up:<\/em> Provide a warning before it is time for your child to clean up, so they can bring an end to their play.&nbsp; Then have them clean up, or help clean up, the toys they were playing with.&nbsp; It should not be your job to clean up after your child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>End (Review):<\/em> Ask your child \u201cWhat did you do today?\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>*Mention what they told you at the start and see if they did do that or if they chose to do something different.&nbsp; It is ok if they change their mind and do something different.*<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Extra Activity <\/strong><strong><em>(10 minutes):<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp; Make your own bubbles.&nbsp; Use a spoonful or 2 of dish soap, add \u00bc cup of water and stir.&nbsp; Use bubble wands to blow bubbles. <em>(Send Mrs. Vasas a picture of child blowing bubbles)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Learning Websites:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scholastic Learn at Home &#8211; reading books and activities<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/classroommagazines.scholastic.com\/support\/learnathome\/grades-prek-k.html\">https:\/\/classroommagazines.scholastic.com\/support\/learnathome\/grades-prek-k.html<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Red Apple Reading &#8211; I have sent you your child\u2019s username and password<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/redapplereading.com\/login\">https:\/\/redapplereading.com\/login<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Books read to kids<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.storylineonline.net\/\">https:\/\/www.storylineonline.net\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Learning Games<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.abcya.com\/grades\/prek\">https:\/\/www.abcya.com\/grades\/prek<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More Learning Games<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pbskids.org\/games\/\">https:\/\/pbskids.org\/games\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today was scheduled to be field day.
