Main Idea:<\/strong>  Foods they eat<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Literacy Activity (10 minutes):<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 Watch the video of Mrs. Vasas reading \u2018The Very Hungry Caterpillar.\u2019 Then help your child draw and write in their journal foods they like to eat.\u00a0 Use the sentence starter \u2018I like to eat\u2026\u2019 (Send Mrs. Vasas a picture of the journal page your child drew and wrote)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Math Activity (10 minutes):<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 Grab some cereal, fruit snacks, or candy that your child likes to eat.\u00a0 Have them sort them into the different colors, or character, or flavor.\u00a0 Count how many are in each group. Then allow your child to enjoy their snack. (Send Mrs. Vasas a picture of the sorted groups)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Play Activity\/Work Time <\/strong>(1 hour or more):<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Start (Plan):<\/em> Ask your child \u201cWhat would you like to do today?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Play (Do): <\/em>Allow your child to play for at least 1 hour of free play time with their toys (no screens-no TV, no tablets).  It is important for your child to have time to be creative and use their imagination.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clean-Up:<\/em> Provide a warning before it is time for your child to clean up, so they can bring an end to their play.  Then have them clean up, or help clean up, the toys they were playing with.  It should not be your job to clean up after your child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

End (Review):<\/em> Ask your child \u201cWhat did you do today?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Mention what they told you at the start and see if they did do that or if they chose to do something different.  It is ok if they change their mind and do something different.*<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
