Main Idea:<\/strong>  Still learning to use the materials <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Literacy Activity (10 minutes):<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 Name puzzles in the pink envelopes – match the letters in your name to spell your first and last name.\u00a0 Name each letter in your first name and your last name. (Send Mrs. Vasas a picture of your finished name puzzle, send her a video of you saying your letters <\/em>vasasm@dearbornschools.org<\/em><\/a> )<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Math Activity <\/strong>(10 minutes):<\/em><\/strong>  Create a pattern with the cubes.  Use 2 colors to create a 2 color pattern (like the yellow, brown pattern I made).  Send Mrs. Vasas a picture of your pattern.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Challenge: <\/em>Try using 3 colors to create a pattern (like the green, white, black puzzle I made).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Play Activity\/Work Time <\/strong>(1 hour or more):<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Start (Plan):<\/em> Ask your child \u201cWhat would you like to do today?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Play (Do): <\/em>Allow your child to play for at least 1 hour of free play time with their toys (no screens-no TV, no tablets).  It is important for your child to have time to be creative and use their imagination.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clean-Up:<\/em> Provide a warning before it is time for your child to clean up, so they can bring an end to their play.  Then have them clean up, or help clean up, the toys they were playing with.  It should not be your job to clean up after your child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

End (Review):<\/em> Ask your child \u201cWhat did you do today?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Mention what they told you at the start and see if they did do that or if they chose to do something different.  It is ok if they change their mind and do something different.*<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Extra Activity <\/strong>(10 minutes):<\/em><\/strong>  Use the extra materials from their packs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
