We will be talking with you about logging into your child&#8217;s school email.  We will be using this log in information in order to have our class meetings from now on.  We will be calling starting around 10:00 until the afternoon.  If an unknown number or blocked number calls, please answer it because it will probably be me or Mrs. Unis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have included some learning websites with the activities as well.  I have had parents asking for more to do so I put those there just as extra, if wanted or needed.  You do not have to go to those websites if you do not want to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Main Idea&nbsp;<\/strong><\/td><td>Earth Day<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Literacy Activity<\/strong><br><strong><em>(10 minutes)<\/em><\/strong><\/td><td>Nature Hunt &#8211; Go outside and do the nature hunt with your child.\u00a0 Have your child \u2018read\u2019 to you what they need to find by reading the pictures.<br>You can do the nature hunt in your own yard or go for a walk.\u00a0 I will be doing it with my kids!\u00a0\u00a0<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"466\" height=\"621\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/Opu_gf5DbSVeN7d1MgjVGRS0fPqccyEG2jYCmGbBU_9eWJVA7I9jUNHq9J-4zfYZiEkrw0YCsZKuWtz7lBwmzhHSdsxRLZP3yuNLjMlWGD6eot-1SimCyeaXxTVuarB0GQM6XFOx\"><br>(*Nature Hunt created by Ms. Makinson on Teacher Pay Teachers*)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Math Activity<\/strong><br><strong><em>(10 minutes)<\/em><\/strong><\/td><td>Outline matching &#8211; choose different items from around the house to trace onto paper.&nbsp; Items could be fork, spoon, coins, toys, remote, or phone.&nbsp; Have your child pick up the different items and match the item to the outline.&nbsp; Talk about the different items comparing them to the others.&nbsp; Which are big, which are small, what shape are they (circle, rectangle, triangle).<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Play Activity<\/strong><br><strong>(Work Time)<\/strong><br><strong><em>(1 hour or more)<\/em><\/strong><\/td><td><em>Start (Plan):<\/em> Ask your child \u201cWhat would you like to do today?\u201d&nbsp;<br><em>Play (Do): <\/em>Allow your child to play for at least 1 hour of free play time with their toys (no screens-no TV, no tablets).&nbsp; It is important for your child to have time to be creative and use their imagination.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br><em>Clean-Up:<\/em> Provide a warning before it is time for your child to clean up, so they can bring an end to their play.&nbsp; Then have them clean up, or help clean up, the toys they were playing with.&nbsp; It should not be your job to clean up after your child.<br><em>End (Review):<\/em> Ask your child \u201cWhat did you do today?\u201d&nbsp;<em>*Mention what they told you at the start and see if they did do that or if they chose to do something different.&nbsp; It is ok if they change their mind and do something different.*<\/em><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Extra Activity<\/strong><br><strong><em>(10 minutes)<\/em><\/strong><\/td><td>Go check out NASA Space Place for the kids to explore about <br>Earth as well as other areas of Outer Space.<br><a href=\"https:\/\/spaceplace.nasa.gov\/menu\/earth\/\">https:\/\/spaceplace.nasa.gov\/menu\/earth\/<\/a><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Learning Websites<\/strong><\/td><td>Scholastic Learn at Home &#8211; reading books and activities<br><a href=\"https:\/\/classroommagazines.scholastic.com\/support\/learnathome\/grades-prek-k.html\">https:\/\/classroommagazines.scholastic.com\/support\/learnathome\/grades-prek-k.html<\/a><br>Red Apple Reading &#8211; I have sent you your child\u2019s username <br>and password<br><a href=\"https:\/\/redapplereading.com\/login\">https:\/\/redapplereading.com\/login<\/a><br>Books read to kids<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.storylineonline.net\/\">https:\/\/www.storylineonline.net\/<\/a><br>Learning Games<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.abcya.com\/grades\/prek\">https:\/\/www.abcya.com\/grades\/prek<\/a><br>More Learning Games<br><a href=\"https:\/\/pbskids.org\/games\/\">https:\/\/pbskids.org\/games\/<\/a><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today Ms. Unis and I will be calling all families.
