{"id":103,"date":"2017-12-20T08:43:48","date_gmt":"2017-12-20T13:43:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/vanalle\/?p=103"},"modified":"2017-12-20T08:43:48","modified_gmt":"2017-12-20T13:43:48","slug":"december-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/vanalle\/2017\/12\/20\/december-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"December 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good morning parents and students,<\/p>\n<p>This month has flown by!\u00a0 This week marks the end of our 2017 portion of the school year.\u00a0 We will have a two week break from school, returning January 8th, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Students will be receiving a winter break homework packet to be completed during our time off.\u00a0 This packet will be filled with reading and math worksheets to practice skills we have already been working on so far this school year.\u00a0 Please be sure to encourage your student to work on the packet a little bit everyday.<\/p>\n<p>Please be sure your student is reading for at least 20 minutes a day during the break.\u00a0 Use the comprehension questions in the Book Bags to build comprehension skills.\u00a0 Rereading the books will help with accuracy and fluency.\u00a0 Practice addition and subtraction math facts at home, as well.<\/p>\n<p>We will be NWEA testing a couple weeks after we return from our break.
