News&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>Social Studies Quiz next week on Tuesday. \u00a0Everybody should have 2 sheets in their folder that they can use to study. \u00a0The quiz will focus on 3 questions: \u00a0What is government? \u00a0Why do we have government? \u00a0What are some services provided by the government?<\/li>\n<li>Social Studies next week will focus on the question, &#8220;Who is in the government?&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>The reading calendar for April came home this week. \u00a0Every student who turns in a calendar with 400 minutes or more for April AND again in May will participate in a pizza party.<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>LITERACY NIGHT is coming up this Thursday, April 10th from 5:30-7:00<\/strong><\/em><strong> p.m.<\/strong> \u00a0Check-in starts at about 5:15. \u00a0Each Howard student who attends will get a free book. \u00a0There will be about 15 literacy activities going on throughout the evening that students can visit &#8211; making bookmarks, creating cootie catchers, slime time, jeopardy, book walk, BINGO, and more&#8230;<\/li>\n<li><em>We have a field trip to the fire house coming up on April 17th<\/em>. \u00a0Look for more information to come home at the end of next week.<\/li>\n<li>Howard&#8217;s City Beautiful group is doing a can\/bottle drive again this year to raise money for flowers and new trees that can be planted around the school. \u00a0 \u00a0You can start sending in 10 cent returnable cans\/bottles on Monday. \u00a0Please rinse them out first. \u00a0We \u00a0turn them over to the committee on Fridays, so if you want to wait and send them in on Friday, that would be great!<\/li>\n<li>Pajamas and Pancakes was a HUGE success \ud83d\ude42 \u00a0Thanks again for the donations to make it possible!! \u00a0Thanks also to Mrs. Elsersy for coming in to help flip and for creating super cute smiley faces out of chocolate chips.<\/li>\n<li>Here are a few pictures of buddies this week and our pj celebration&#8230;
