{"id":2631,"date":"2017-03-01T16:28:53","date_gmt":"2017-03-01T21:28:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/turkl\/?p=2631"},"modified":"2017-03-01T16:29:26","modified_gmt":"2017-03-01T21:29:26","slug":"march-is-reading-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/turkl\/2017\/03\/01\/march-is-reading-month\/","title":{"rendered":"March is Reading Month :)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQsdSx0VnefLiyDzOSMFsNhWfYjnHTt2u-sPMaxzOENXraj3Y_m\" alt=\"Image result for super hero words\" width=\"127\" height=\"98\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Reading is our Superpower!!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Today everyone brought home their packet of information for reading month. \u00a0Please read through it carefully. \u00a0A few of the highlights:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">The items on the calendar are suggestions. \u00a0You do not have to do them all. \u00a0I do encourage you to participate in at least a few of the activities and especially on Thursdays with a &#8220;super fact in your\u00a0pocket&#8221; day. \u00a0I am also really excited for superhero socks day and superhero t-shirt day.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Students should start counting and recording their number of reading minutes on Friday of this week. \u00a0Every day they read, they should write the number of minutes down on &#8220;Week 1&#8221; of the recording sheet. \u00a0On March 9th, they should total all their minutes, get it signed by a parent, and then cut off &#8220;week 1&#8221; and bring it in on Friday, March 10th. \u00a0They will repeat this each week. \u00a0Students who read at 120 minutes (or more) each week get a sticker to put on the bulletin board outside our room.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">The last page in the packet is an invitation for parents or other family members to come and be SUPER readers in our classroom. \u00a0We LOVE to have guest readers!!!!
