{"id":1755,"date":"2016-02-16T16:36:22","date_gmt":"2016-02-16T21:36:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/turkl\/?p=1755"},"modified":"2016-02-16T16:36:22","modified_gmt":"2016-02-16T21:36:22","slug":"the-latest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/turkl\/2016\/02\/16\/the-latest\/","title":{"rendered":"The latest&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>Math test tomorrow! \u00a0I posted the study guide last week and we went through the questions today\u00a0(I changed the numbers for the practice in class). \u00a0The subtraction problem is tricky. \u00a0I am not allowing them to do the traditional method for this question. \u00a0We haven&#8217;t practiced borrowing enough to rely on for a test grade. \u00a0We have been using a few other strategies. \u00a0Here is a description of the most popular ones: \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/turkl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/603\/2016\/02\/subtraction-strategies.pdf\" rel=\"\">subtraction strategies<\/a><\/li>\n<li>A big thanks to Trent&#8217;s Mom and Bilal&#8217;s Mom for coming through with gallon size Ziploc bags \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<li>I posted last week about the 100th day of school coming up on Monday, February 22nd. \u00a0A paper copy of the note came home today! \u00a0We ask students to make a poster of 100 things. \u00a0It can be any size!! They are encouraged to sort their items in to equal groups or an array so that they can write a repeated addition sentence or multiplication sentence on their poster.
