{"id":1042,"date":"2014-12-01T16:03:00","date_gmt":"2014-12-01T21:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/turkl\/?p=1042"},"modified":"2014-12-01T16:03:00","modified_gmt":"2014-12-01T21:03:00","slug":"classroom-news-12","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/turkl\/2014\/12\/01\/classroom-news-12\/","title":{"rendered":"Classroom News&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>Please turn in November reading calendars by Wednesday. \u00a0They must be signed by a parent to receive their free pizza coupon.<\/li>\n<li>The RAZ-kids trial expires on the 8th of December. \u00a0I know many kids told me today that they had tested it out. \u00a0I would love to hear your feedback.<\/li>\n<li>The collection has started for canned goods. \u00a0If you are able to donate a few, that would be great. \u00a0 The collection lasts this week only. \u00a0Our class collected 12 cans today.<\/li>\n<li>SCIENCE QUIZ coming up on Wednesday. \u00a0I listed the learning goals and a few examples of each just for ideas. \u00a0It covers:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">properties of ice (solid, slippery, hard, cold) and water (liquid, room temperature,wet)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">ways we use water (cooking, swimming, cleaning, showers, watering plants)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">where we get our water (lakes, rivers, ponds, well, spring)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>On the 19th of December (last day of school before break) we will do a book exchange. \u00a0Each student should bring in a new, wrapped book. \u00a0It can be a picture book or a chapter book, but should be something you think a 2nd grader would like to read. \u00a0If you cannot get a book, please let me know &#8211; I ordered a few extra from Scholastic this month just in case.<\/li>\n<li>Spelling words this week: \u00a0chill, cheat, sheep, shine, think, this, while, whine, chase, chair<\/li>\n<li>We continue to have many students out with illness. \u00a0Please keep your child at home if they have a temperature or are not feeling well. \u00a0We will continue to try and\u00a0keep our hands and tables clean so that we are not passing on germs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please turn in November reading calendars by Wednesday. \u00a0They must be signed by a parent to receive their free pizza coupon.
