Today the students focused on the exposition, rising action, and the climax. \u00a0Tomorrow they will be finishing up the story with the falling action and resolution. \u00a0The students were also introduced to the author&#8217;s purpose for writing a story. \u00a0We added this idea to our interactive notebooks too. \u00a0Lastly, we played a vocabulary review game during class time today in order to help students prepare for their vocabulary test on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Have a great evening!<\/p>\n<p>Homework:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Read for 20 minutes<\/li>\n<li><em>Eleven<\/em> vocabulary test Thursday<\/li>\n<li>Elements of a story test Friday<\/li>\n<li>Interactive notebook check Friday (both reading and writing)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/trayloa\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/738\/2015\/10\/authors_purpose_slideshow.ppt\">authors_purpose_slideshow<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Language Arts today the students continued to learn about the pyramid of action. \u00a0We practiced defining these words and then applying them to the story, The School Play.
