Today in Language Arts we discussed the MSTEP Prep that will be taking place this week. \u00a0I explained that this test is the replacement for the MEAP. \u00a0We will be taking the Language Arts component at the end of May. \u00a0The students were also given their tests back. \u00a0We looked at the scores and discussed retakes. \u00a0The students were also notified of their final grade for the marking period and retests were scheduled. \u00a0We also reviewed the QAR strategies using our comprehension tests to practice. \u00a0We discussed how we can use these strategies to help us with the MSTEP.<\/p>\n
Parent Teacher Conferences will be taking place on Monday from 3:30 to 6:30. \u00a0If one of the teachers has a concern about your child, you will be contacted. \u00a0All parents are welcome to attended however, we are only contacting parents of children we have concern for. \u00a0Since it is conference week, that means it is book fair week too! \u00a0The students will be going to the book fair tomorrow during Language Arts. \u00a0I have encouraged students to make a list of books they would be interested in reading if they are coming to conferences. \u00a0If parents are not coming to conferences, students have been encouraged to bring their money tomorrow so that they can purchase new books if they choose to do so.<\/p>\n
